The 2nd amendment was placed in the constitution for the express purpose of allowing the people to be able to arm themselves and protect themselves against a hostile government. If you read any of Obama's statements during and before the race for President, you would know why folks are buying guns and ammo. Look at his closest advisers and his Attorney General, they all are against private ownership of firearms.
